Internal and external funding opportunities are available for graduate student research.
Internal (ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ) funding opportunities include the Graduate Student Research Grant Fund, funding for travel to present research, the Graduate Student Professional Development Fund, and the Graduate Student Outstanding Research Award.
External Funding for Graduate Student Research
External funding opportunities are available to graduate students, but they need to pay special attention to the eligibility requirements specified by the funding agency.
Only faculty and staff members can apply for external grant funding on behalf of the institution or where the eligibility requirement is “institute of higher education” or “nonprofit,” and they can do so only after receiving authorization from university central administration to seek external funding. Graduate assistants cannot apply for external funding on behalf of the institution.

Grants and Fellowships
Doctoral and master’s students can find grants and fellowships to aid them in their educational endeavors from a variety of financial sources. ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ’s Office of Research and Innovation offers funding for graduate students to cover research and scholarly expenses from different organizations. Graduate Student Outstanding Research Award Guidelines
Students who graduated in May, August, or December 2023, or who have finished their project and will graduate in May 2024, are eligible to be nominated by any department offering graduate courses. Awards of $100 will be announced in conjunction with Research Appreciation Week (April 8-12, 2024).

A nominating letter from the student's supervising faculty member is required. The letter should be submitted via InfoReady Review.

Proposals should be well-written and complete, although there is no need to fill out the page limits in each section.
