For its outstanding community outreach work in 2024, ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµâ€™s Institute for Cybersecurity was awarded eighth place in the 2024 national CAE-CD Community Outreach Competition Initiative. The CAE community consists of about 500 institutions of higher education from across the nation.
Waleed Farag, the director of the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Institute for Cyber Security and current PI of several major federally funded grants, visited Indiana Area Senior High School on April 16, 2025, to share information about cybersecurity and career opportunities.
In April 2025, the PA Community College Consortium Cooperative Agreement (PC4A) offered two faculty development workshops on the POGIL instructional method.

On February 15, 2025, the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Hackathon Team participated in the Nation Center of Academic Excellence – Northeast Cyber Competition. The team secured a first-place finish in the CTF section and ninth place overall against 12 other cyber teams from US colleges and universities.
