On November 13, 2024, the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Institute for Cyber Security hosted Kevin Davis, division supervisor of the Naval Supply Systems Command Business Systems Center, Employment Engagement Division.
Davis met with Steven Hovan, dean of the Kopchik College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; Timothy Flowers, chair of the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences; and Waleed Farag, director of the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Institute for Cyber Security; as well as ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ faculty, staff, and students, to learn more about current programs being offered by the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Institute for Cyber Security, including the Department of Defense Cyber Academy (CSA) scholarship program and the . Davis also offered a presentation to students titled “Accelerating Digital Solutions” and met with recipients of the CSA scholarship.
This is the third time representatives from NAVSUP have visited ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ in less than two years, showcasing the collaboration between ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ and various DoD agencies. Farag has worked extensively with government representatives to cultivate relationships and identify internship and employment opportunities for computer science students. “I am grateful that NAVSUP, along with many other DoD agencies, have shown continued interest in collaborating with us,” said Farag. “These collaborations are vitally important to not only open doors for our students but to assist ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ’s efforts in strengthening the cybersecurity workforce in our country.”
