ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ’s Alumni Association Board of Directors welcomed three new members to the Board during its October meeting.
New board members include Morgan Huey, a 2016 pre-chiropractic natural sciences and mathematics graduate originally from Cochranton, now of Centre County; Stephen Mihalacki, a 2001 economics graduate originally of Johnstown and now of Cranberry Township; and Valerie Sutton, a 1988 fashion merchandising and 1996 student affairs in higher education master’s degree graduate originally from Indiana and now of Cambridge, MA.
Huey, a 2012 graduate of Cochranton High School, was a member of the Cook Honors College and the student-alumni association and was vice president of special events for the organization. She also was a member and secretary of Alpha Chi Sigma professional chemistry fraternity, the American Chemical Society, and was a supplemental instruction leader for organic chemistry and microbiology.
Following her ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ graduation, she earned her chiropractic degree from Northeast College of Health Sciences. A doctor of chiropractic, she opened her own chiropractic office with her husband, Joshua Feldbauer, Backcountry Spine and Sport in State College.
Mihalacki, a 1997 graduate of Ferndale Area High School, was a George C. Marshall Scholar while at ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ. A member of the Cook Honors College, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant through ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ’s Army ROTC program and was a resident assistant.
He completed his master’s in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007. He is the vice president of network analytics at Magellan Health. He and his wife, Shannon, who is also an ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ graduate, are the parents of four children.
Sutton, a 1983 graduate of Indiana Area High School, was a member of the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Ambassadors student-alumni group while at ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ. Her father was a member of the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ faculty and was the cross country and track coach at ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ.
She is a career coach and consultant with expertise in helping individual clients manage their careers, write résumés, prepare for interviews, and negotiate offers. She specializes in mid-career pivots, women, international students, and graduate student populations. She is a Harvard- and Wharton-trained coach and has worked with clients from various industries, including consulting, finance, technology, and nonprofits. She also is experienced in leading change and team building.
The ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Alumni Association Board of Directors is the governing board for the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Alumni Association, which includes all graduates of ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ. Directors are nominated by the Governance committee and elected by a majority vote of the board membership. The board has 16 elected directors, who serve four-year terms.
The mission of the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ Alumni Association is to create and enrich relationships to engage current and future alumni in the advancement of ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ.
